Infiniti has trailed a new range-extending electric sports car concept - a long way ahead of its planned debut at the 2012 Geneva motor show. The company already plans an electric Infiniti to piggyback the EV learnings from parent firm Nissan, whose Leaf is the first mainstream electric car built from scratch. But this new sports car will pack a range-extender system, with a petrol or diesel engine to charge the battery when charge gets low.
Pagani Huayra Tease 4 - the sketch and the poetic pontification
Although we confessed to getting more than a little bored with the Pagani Huayra tease, we really have no choice but to see it through to the end as we’ve done the first three – and there is only one more to go before the reveal on 26th January. So far we’ve had moody, close-up imagery of the interior detail and a few shots in the last video of the exterior. Nothing to give the game away too much, although we’re pretty sure we’ve already seen much of what the Huayra has to offer in the spy shots that have floated around in the last year.

Ford’s latest Ka – high style meets low cost – makes its bow at the Paris show. It’s a funky little thing based on the Fiat 500/Panda, and built in the same Polish factory. It dials up driving brio and youthful appeal compared with the industrial Panda and the mature chic of the 500 and will likely follow its successful predecessor as Britain’s best-selling baby car.
